Festival City grant program to deliver a bumper festival season

13 of 23 applicants have been successful for this year’s Festivals and Events Grants program. That’s five new and innovative festivals as well as supporting some well loved local favourites.

  • 2012 Carols in the Gardens – Footscray Yarraville City Band
  • Albanian Community Festival – The Albanian-Australian Community Association Inc
  • Blacksmiths Festival – Waterside Metal Arts Works
  • Contemporary Pacific Arts Festival – Footscray Community Arts Centre
  • East Meets West Lunar New Year Festival – Footscray Asian Business Association
  • Emerge in the West – Multicultural Arts Victoria
  • Ethiopian New Year Festival – Ethiopian Community Association in Victoria
  • Footscray Stories Festival – The Village Festival of New Performance
  • West Hollywood – Melbourne Queer Film Festival Inc
  • Midsumma Meets Maribyrnong – Midsumma Festival
  • Quang Minh Tet Festival – Quang Minh Temple
  • Seddon Music Festival – Seddon Community Group Inc
  • Yarraville Arts Festival – Yarraville Arts Festival Inc

In addition to the annual grants program we’ve once again got the Big West Festival and a range of other festivals including the self produced Footscray on the Edge, the Maribyrnong Library Services Literary Festival, Feasting in Footscray (part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival) and the Black Arm Band concert (with Footscray Community Arts Centre) as well as the hugely popular St Jerome’s music festival.

The Festival City calendar is due to be released late August 2012.
