  1. Phở Chu The – 92 Hopkins St Footscray, VIC 3011 – letting out a secret here, so I hope there will be a table free next time I visit – it’s a family style restaurant, mostly Vietnamese clientel, not fancy. We are regulars as my Vietnamese partner who is quite fussy re her Phở, says it has the closest to the genuine Southern Vietnamese style Phở. I order the basic Phở Bò (beef ) – Gà (chicken) which comes with either fresh, or blanched bean shoots.

  2. Reading Room – best breakfast in the west. First time goers should order the Coriander Fritters or the BFG French Toast.. Mmm I’m getting hungry just typing this 😛

  3. I love the lamb tibs from Harambe. The lamb comes with onions and green chillies and is super delicious. Of course, it should be eaten with their injera. They also have gluten free injera or rice for coeliacs, which is very thoughtful.

  4. Gotta be sliced chicken Pho from Hien Vuong in Leeds St. Regardless of whether you have a cold or are just a little ginger from a big night it always makes you feel better. Soul food!

  5. Chicken Tikka Masala at Aangan. So delish. And the prawn pizza at Gusto. And the Pho at Hao Phong. And the cannoli at Cavallaro & Sons…so many great dishes and places to choose from, too hard to pick just one!

  6. The pupusas at Nuevos Latino, Barkly St. Taste just like they are off the street in El Salvador. Their mothers recipe and super delicious. Actually the whole menu is amazing.
